Reisterstown Lumber offers an extensive inventory of steel products and fabrication services to make the steel parts you need.  We have experienced staff able to detail steel for your custom job and licensed structural engineers available to size a beam for your project. 

I-Beams
We stock a wide selection of wide-flange steel beams in lengths up to 50’ in depths from 8” to 18” on-site (ASTM A992, 50ksi).   We can pack out the sides of your steel beam so you can easily attach wood floor joists with standard joist hangers. 

 
Adjustable Steel Columns
We stock 3½” and 4” 11-gage adjustable steel columns from Marshall Stamping Co. in lengths from 6’-6” to 10’-4”.  These are generally used to support beams in basements and are adjustable within a 4 inch range.  The 3½” columns can support between 15,000 and 17,600 lbs and the 4” columns support between 19,350 and 22,000 lbs.

Steel Pipe Columns
Where 11-gage columns don’t have enough capacity, we can fabricate custom columns out of schedule 40 or 80 steel pipe (ASTM A53, 35 ksi) or square/rectangular steel tube (ASTM A500, 46ksi) .  To make jobsite installation even easier, we can put a 38,000 lb capacity adjustable base on any size column.

Steel Angle
We stock the most common sizes of angle used for brick lintels and can shear and drill them as necessary.  We can also provide custom curved lintels for arched window and door openings.

Steel Plate
We stock 20’ lengths of many sizes of plate from 1/8”x4” up to ¾”x12” and can quickly shear and punch holes to meet your project needs.  We also have a CNC plasma table that allows us to create custom patterns and shapes like sign letters or timber truss gusset plates from 5’x10’ sheets of steel plate.

  
Composite Pan Decking
We stock 1½” and 3” 18-gauge galvanized composite decking in 3’ wide panels in lengths up to 36’ long.  It can be used as a form for suspended slab decks, front porches, or structural garage floors.

 
Reinforcing Bar
We stock 20’ lengths of rebar in #3 (3/8”) up to #6 (3/4”).  We also can cut and bend rebar to your specifications for footing dowels or column stirrups.

Hardy Frames Inc.
Hardy Frames, Inc. manufactures light gage steel Panels and Brace Frames that are installed flush into wall framing for the purpose of resisting shear and wind loads. The products are structural elements that are located strategically for the intended purpose. The product may be used to replace field built plywood or OSB shear walls, but is most commonly used in narrow wall sections that would otherwise require structural steel columns or moment frames.
